About Restaurants in Zurich

Zurich has a large number of restaurants, of which we mention a few that might be of particular interest to conference attendees. The selection is entirely subjective.

Reservation is strongly recommended for most restaurants. Tipping is not mandatory; it is nice to give a tip on the order of 5% if you are happy.

The Restaurant (not the Garden Restaurant) in the Dolder Grand Hotel, +41 (0)44 456 60 00.: Grand in every respect. Clearly number one.
Sein, Schützengasse 5, +41 (0)44 221 10 65, near Hauptbahnhof.: Most creative and inspiring cuisine. The associated tapas bar is also highly recommended.

Famous (and Expensive)

Kronenhalle, Rämistrasse 4, +41 (0)44 262 99 00.: Traditional Swiss dishes. Amazing original paintings on the walls (including some Picassos).
Clouds, Hardstrasse 201, +41 (0)44 404 30 00.: Great view from the top of the Prime Tower, Zurich's best attempt at a high-rise.

Beer Halls (Recommended!)

Zeughauskeller, Bahnhofstrasse 28a, +41 (0)44 220 15 15, near Paradeplatz.: Great sausages, potato salad, etc., in a historical setting.
Bierhalle Kropf, In Gassen 16, +41 (0)44 221 18 05, near Paradeplatz.: Ditto, but more intimate.
