About Restaurants in Zurich

Zurich has a large number of restaurants, of which we mention a few that might be of particular interest to conference attendees. The selection is entirely subjective.

Reservation is strongly recommended for most restaurants. Tipping is not mandatory; it is nice to give a tip on the order of 5% if you are happy.

Sein, Schützengasse 5, +41 (0)44 221 10 65, near Hauptbahnhof.: Most creative and inspiring cuisine.
Mesa, Weinbergstrasse 75, +41 (0)43 321 75 75.: New chef, new direction, still excellent. Now with an Italian touch.
Münsterhof, Münsterhof 6, +41 (0)44 262 33 00,: In the heart of the old town. The simpler restaurant on the ground floor is also very nice.

Didi's Frieden, Stampfenbachstrasse 32, +41 (0)44 253 18 10, near tram stop "Central".: Very good and very popular.
Lumière, Widdergasse 5, +41 (0)44 211 56 65.: French bistro style.
Terrasse, Limmatquai 3, +41 (0)44 251 10 74, near "Bellevue".: Mediterranean food in a beautiful lofty hall.

Famous (and Charging Accordingly)

Kronenhalle, Rämistrasse 4, +41 (0)44 262 99 00.: Traditional Swiss dishes. Amazing original paintings on the walls (including some Picassos).
Clouds, Hardstrasse 201, +41 (0)44 404 30 00.: Great view from the top of the Prime Tower, Zurich's best attempt at a high-rise.

Beer Halls (Recommended!)

Zeughauskeller, Bahnhofstrasse 28a, +41 (0)44 220 15 15, near Paradeplatz.: Great sausages, potato salad, etc., in a historical setting.
